Sorry for the repost…I just want as many answers as I can get!
okay so I am gaining weight in recovery for anorexia. I am eating about 2300-2400 calories per day. Every other day I do a “Body Pump” weight lifting tape. I am not a very strong 14 year old girl, so I usually just use the bar.
My question is…
I have only gained like 1-2 lbs, but none of my pants fit me anymore! I feel terrible that none fit. Is it because my legs are full of muscle(they actually have muscle, from squats and lunges) or is it fat on my legs. I have a pretty flat stomach, but it is getting kinda poochy, any ab exercises?
Please don’t say anything rude, or leave those stupid weight loss ads, or tell me to just eat cuz i eat alot!
How many grams of fat should i have every day as well? I usually have 20-29 grams(4 saturated) I am 5ft 1 and weigh 84 lbs. Please answer and help me!
I have natural peanut butter almost everyday…and odwalla bars, sometimes and ensure(regular)
all your answers are helpful.. I couldnt choose.

1The problem is that you have a distorted body image. You see fat where someone else sees an eating disorder. You have to accept that you are going to gain weight. Go online and find a BMI calculator. Pick a healthy goal weight that you are comfortable with, put into the BMI calculator, and keep changing the weight until you’ve found a healthy one. Try to go for a BMI of 20. It’s still at the low end of the spectrum, but it’s healthy. If you pick a goal now, one, you won’t exceed it, and two, you’ll know what to expect. Expect that your small pants will not fit anymore, and accept it. Embrace curves, like getting a bigger chest back, because you know all the guys will be loving it. Just start getting into a healthy eating routine. Maybe toast and peanut butter for breakfast, or oatmeal, eggs and toast, whatever, then lunch, snacks, and dinner. Then, you won’t binge on junk food or exceed your healthy goal weight. Good luck with your recovery.

Of course you need help to get you through, and I must say you have done FANTASTIC so far! I don’t think it’s about your fat in take, it’s about protein intake. Have you been given a dietary plan at all/ It’s a little hard to respond properly to your question. But will help you through this.

4It’s probably muscle.
If you were around 80lb when you first went in to recovery, you would have had NO muscle so the shape of your legs would have been different, and you could fit your pants. When you started excersising, you gained muscle and the shape of your legs changed, which is why they don’t fit.
And that is actually less fat than you should eat but seeing as you’re eating 2300 calories a day it shouldn’t be a problem (because in the end calories, not fat, make you gain weight)
Just keep up what you’re doing
You might want to start going on walks then moving into runs as well. It will make you feel better, and if you gain about 10lb and are very fit you would have less chance of relapsing than you would if you gained 10 and were unfit.

6im also in recovery and all i can say is still with what your meal plan was when you were in rehab if you went to rehab for your ED… that what i did when i first got out. i came home and still followed my meal plan that i had at the place i was at… if you just eat as much as they told you to eat then your in the clear. the only thing you should worry about is losing weight. if your losing your not doing it right. just eata ndbe happy try not to think about it too much you’ll relaps by worrying too much i know ha. and dont feel bad that your jean or pants dont fit! thats awesome if you NEED to gain wait and your jeans dont fit your reaching the goal! stay strong hun your young and you dont wanna be a old woman still dealing with this crap! kick your ED to the curb and do whats best for you. live a long healthy life! recovery isnt easy for anyone. stay strong!
