I am trying to quit smoking and I am also overweight and worried about gaining more weight from quitting cigarettes. Just wondering what is worse?

both are really bad don’t be or do eather if you want to be healthy and live long don’t be an idoit.
smoking most definatley. you wont notice but i hate it when im stood near someone who smokes it absolutley stinks, you have yellow teeth and fingers thats just the start. just imagine what its doing to your insides. Give it up, you can do it honestly.
Well you already know that they are BOTH BAD!
Obesity is on the rise though as the #1killer! Yep, it’s crazy!

Smoking obsessed person
Stopping smoking is hard work. After this you will try to find something else to “please” you.
Read this article for Mediterranean lifestyle. It could help it for building appropriate eating lifestyle.
Good luck!

both bad obviously, but i would imagine being obese. You can get heart disease, diabetes, circulation problems, respiratory, etc etc…cigarettes we all know what that can cause….it’s basically choose your poison
I would say when you quit smoking to replace that with a new interesting hoobie or habit…you’ll be lost if you dont, carry a bunch of hard candy with you to satisfy your oral fixation
It’s hard to say what’s worse because both have entirely different effects on the body. Smoking obviously effects the lungs and mouth, causes breathing difficulties and can lead to mouth or lung cancer. Obesety causes the arteries to constrict and make blood harder to reach the heart, if the fat builds up so much, the flow cuts off entirely, leading to a heart attack and quite possibily death.
Both have entirely different effects but about the same level of risk. I’d stop smoking first, as it will make you feel better, make it easier for you to exercise, and thus more likely to loose weight quicker and less likely to give up.
Good luck
Since both are pretty unhealthy, why not try exercising every time you have a nicotine fit? Not only will the chemistry of your brain change and help with the nicotine fits, but when you are all winded and coughing up mucus, you’ll remember why you shouldn’t smoke.
I recently began an attempt at quitting, and so far my solution has been to eat every time I want a cigarette (of course, I’m pregnant so I get that extra motivation, and the excuse to chow!). I just tried to make sure that I was eating something that was low fat and good for me instead of chowing on chocolate and ice cream, although I am guilty of munching down on both. That only worked the first couple of days, though. Now I also have to think of something else, otherwise the nicotine combined with the hormone swings may make my family pretty miserable!
They are both, as we all know, unhealthy. But, trying to quit smoking and losing weight at the same time is a huge lifestyle change on two fronts. Remember, you want to be successful, so set yourself up for success. When you quit smoking, you’re going to want to replace it with food, so make sure you have something healthy to snack on. I would think the best route would be to establish some healthy eating habits first, before quitting smoking and exercise routines are established.
The very best thing is to go see your doctor and set up a plan.
Continuing to smoke is worst than being obese for a few very simple reasons cigarettes contain carcinogenics (cancer causing agents) and other chemicals which damages your DNA. The result is that despite quitting the damage is already done. With obesity, ok there are health risks, but all of which can be reversed by taking more exercise and reducing and changing what you eat . Combat the smoking first and if you need to snack choose some healthy fruit with a peel or grapes, anything that gives your hands something to do. I would also point out that smoking may enhance conditions seen in obese people such as hardening of the arteries. By giving up you’ll find you stamina will go up. carbon monoxide will be removed from your haemoglobin and you’ll find it easier to walk that bit further. Stop the smoking then worry about your weight.
They are both bad. But you should conquer one at a time or else you will drive everyone nuts around you. I think quitting smoking first is a good one. Because then once you can breath better then you will want to be more active.
